Gifted students who also have literacy learning difficulties
Some gifted students also have reading and spelling difficulties. This article reports research that examines the learning characteristics of gifted primary students who also have reading difficulties. It does this by comparing the literacy learning profiles of these students both with gifted peers who don’t have reading difficulties and with peers who have reading difficulties but who are not gifted. It shows phonological sequential processing as a causal influence. It also shows how gifted students who have different gifted learning profiles differ in the quality of their inferential comprehension outcomes.
